Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has announced that an animated reboot of "The Addams Family" will be coming to the big screen in October 2019. With a Halloween release date, it seems that this specific time of the month will be very exciting for those who grew up alongside this spooky household.

According to Deadline, the MGM animated reboot will be helmed by "Shrek 2," "Monsters vs. Aliens" and "Sausage Party" director Conrad Vernon. The animated feature film will be based on the characters created by Charles Addams for his famous The New Yorker cartoon strips. Matt Lieberman and Pamela Pettler will be writing the script for the upcoming picture.

No other information has been revealed regarding the film's plot, as well as who will be lending their voices to the iconic characters. However, reports have been circulating that Oscar Isaac is being considered to play the Addams patriarch, Gomez.

The role was most famously portrayed by the late Raul Julia in the two "Addams Family" films by Barry Sonnenfeld in the '90s. John Astin played the patriarch in the '60s Addams Family TV series.

Vernon will also serve as the film's producer, alongside Gail Berman and Alex Schwartz. Meanwhile, Andrew Mittman and Kevin Miserocchi will be executive producers of the animated feature. The Jackal Group in collaboration with Cinecite Studios will be providing the animation for the movie.

Knowing the film's release date, it means that audiences will be seeing Gomez, Morticia, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley, Fester, Lurch and Thing around the same time as another '90s favorite. "The Addams Family" reboot will be going up against the "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" movie. It is based on the Nickelodeon show of the same name.

"The Addams Family" aminated reboot will arrive in cinemas on Oct. 11, 2019.
