Acer's newest Chromebook, the Spin 11, features a 2-in-1 form factor that allows users to accomplish a wide variety of tasks. It delivers quality computing experience without having to break the bank.
The Spin 11 features an 11.6-inch HD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Despite a plastic build, the Chromebook appears sleek and premium thanks to the silver cross-hairline pattern on the top cover. It is also small and lightweight so users can easily fit the laptop in their bag and bring it along for productivity on the go.
The presence of a 360-degree hinge allows the Chromebook Spin 11 to transform into four modes. Apart from the traditional notebook setup, users will be able to use the Spin 11 in tablet, display and tent modes. There is an HD webcam on top of the keyboard but users can opt for a second camera on the cover to be able to take pictures while in tablet mode. An optional Wacom stylus also enables users to sketch, take notes and conceptualize ideas.
The Chromebook Spin 11 is available with three processors: a quad-core Intel Pentium N4200, a quad-core Intel Celeron N3450 and a dual-core Intel Celeron N3350. Users can also choose from 4 GB or 8 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and 32 GB or 64 GB of built-in storage.
Powered by the Chrome operating system, the Spin 11 can easily access Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive and the Chrome browser. Users can also run Android apps from the Google Play Store. Google's OS also provides users security against online threats.
The Spin 11 comes with two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, which are capable of fast data transfer, charging other devices and connecting to an HD display. There are also two USB 3.0 ports and microSD card reader as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. Acer's new Chromebook is also equipped with a battery that will provide up to 10 hours of use on a single charge.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 will be available to purchase this March. Depending on the configuration, pricing will start at $349.
