Chevrolet introduced the 2019 Silverado at the Texas Motor Speedway, just outside of Forth Worth, last Saturday, Dec. 16. The special event was held in celebration of the Chevy Trucks' centennial.

In developing the next-generation Silverado, Chevrolet built upon and leveraged their experience for the past 100 years, having produced over 85 million pickup trucks. The American automaker also integrated the feedback they received from over 7,000 of the brand's most loyal customers.

The overall result is a modern and sleek pickup truck that is unmistakably Chevrolet. The 2019 Silverado is said to come with a variety of improvements that enhance the vehicle's capability and performance. Specifically, the next-generation pickup truck uses high-strength steel and higher-grade alloy that translate to a lighter but more functional chassis.

During the event, the American automaker unveiled the 2019 Silverado LT Trailboss — one of the new models that will be offered next year. The pickup truck was equipped with off-road features, including a two-inch suspension lift.

Based on what has been revealed, the new pickup truck features a more aggressive appearance compared to the upright, traditional look of the outgoing model. The 2019 Silverado has several aerodynamic touches as well, including a sloping roofline, soft creases and strong character lines.

The 2019 Silverado's front fascia also features a more prominent grille with LED headlights and LED daytime running lights.

Chevrolet has yet to reveal specific details regarding the 2019 Silverado. However, the automaker did say that the next-generation pickup truck will be offered with more choices in order to suit the needs of all its customers.

There will be eight models in the range and they will be offered with several engine and transmission options, the latest technologies and a host of convenience features.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is scheduled to make its official debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2018.
