The 2018 BMW X2 is scheduled to arrive next spring. Though official pricing has yet to be announced, a leaked order guide reveals that the luxury crossover will be priced just under $40,000.

Before arriving in the U.S. market, the 2018 BMW X2 will make its official debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2018. The upcoming vehicle's public appearance comes two months after it made its online premiere.

Once launched, the all-new luxury crossover will sit in between the X1 and the X3. Though inspired by the former, the X2 is shorter, lower and rides on a front-wheel-drive platform. Another key difference is in the X2's interpretation of BMW's signature kidney grille — it's upside down, with the wider part at the bottom.

The 2018 BMW X2 also features unique styling with its sportier, coupe-like design. Alongside an athletic stance and rugged profile, prominent shoulder lines, an elegant sloping roofline, sleek lines and LED lighting ensure that the luxury crossover makes a powerful impression on the road.

When it comes to pricing, order guides obtained by Cars Direct revealed that the all-new X2 will have a starting price of 39,395.

The entry-level X2 xDrive28i model will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 228 horsepower — the same powertrain used by the X1. Standard features a seven-speaker audio system, SensaTec seats and 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels.

Power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors, as well as a panoramic roof and lumbar support, will be available with the Convenience Package, which entails an additional $2,350.

Available safety features include lane departure warning, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and emergency braking. The Driver Assistance Package will range from $700 to $5,650, depending on the options customers select.

Meanwhile, an M SportX Package ($4,650) will add high-performance equipment such as a sport-tuned transmission, M Sport suspension, M steering wheel, and 19-inch bicolor wheels, among others. Dynamic handling will cost another $600.

The all-new BMW X2 will go on sale in March 2018.
