'Star Wars Episode 7' cast news: Robert Boulter to play young Luke Skywalker?

Although Mark Hamill will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in the upcoming film "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens," rumors claim that another actor was cast to give life to the younger version of the iconic character.

Making Star Wars earlier reported that the role of young Luke Skywalker was given to British actor Robert Boulter. Boulter is relatively new in Hollywood, having been involved in only three limited release films, including 2008's "Daylight Robbery" and "Donkey Punch", as well as 2011's "Mercenaries."

Hamill will still be featured in the film as The Young Original Warrior, but Boulter will fill in during the reported flashback scenes in the movie. According to the website, young Luke Skywalker will appear when the owner of Rose's Pub narrates her story to a group composed of Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Rey (Daisy Ridley), and Finn (John Boyega). However, Disney Films has not confirmed this piece of information.

Meanwhile, an insider relayed to The Sun that Billy Dee Williams will reportedly come back to the "Star Wars" franchise in the next installments of the movies. The reports mentioned that Williams will make a cameo as Lando Calrissian in one of the upcoming sequels of the film.

"It will be a fun cameo. Billy's definitely up for it," the source said.

Metro UK mentioned that the 77-year-old actor was quite disappointed when he was not asked to return in "Star Wars Episode 7." His role first appeared in "The Empire Strikes Back" in 1980.

"Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" is slated to be released on Dec. 18, while the sequels are expected to come out in 2017 and 2019. A standalone "Star Wars" film was also confirmed, and Oscar-nominated actress Felicity Jones is said to portray the role of the female lead in the movie.
