The fans have been noticing the lack of updates from Capcom regarding the status of the "Resident Evil 2" remake. The Japanese game studio already confirmed that a new take on the 1998 classic survival-horror game title is underway, although Capcom did not specify a target release date for the remake. Nevertheless, lfans are hopeful that the "Resident Evil 2" remake will feature necessary updates in gaming design, including the changes in camera perspectives.

Nothing much has been learned about the "Resident Evil 2" remake, except for the names of the group of people who will be working on the video game. Still, Capcom could use some points that the fans have raised on how the remake version could improve from the 1998 original title. For one, the studio could introduce a new camera perspective in the "RE2" remake gameplay, shifting away from the usual fixed camera viewpoint. This appears to be likely, given that the succeeding "Resident Evil" titles have seen the evolution of camera perspectives, most especially that latest "Resident Evil 7" title in 2017.

However, the fans should not get their hopes up that the "Resident Evil 2" remake will not use fixed camera angles. There is a possibility that Capcom would retain this camera style, following the remastered version of the first "Resident Evil" title. Much like the original, the "RE" remaster sticks to fixed angles instead of having more immersive camera views.

Meanwhile, it is also rumored that Capcom is preparing a Nintendo Switch version for the "Resident Evil 2" remake. For now, it is almost guaranteed that the remake title will arrive in the PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC, just like "Resident Evil 7." However, with the Switch proven as a huge hit among gamers, it is possible that Capcom will port "Resident Evil 2" remake to Nintendo's hybrid console. However, there might be an issue with compatibility if the "RE2" remake is built on the same game engine used for "Resident Evil 7."

Capcom first announced the "Resident Evil 2" remake back in Aug. 2015, naming Yoshiaki Hirabayashi as the head of the development team. While the lack of info regarding the remake is quite disappointing, Hirabayashi already said that the public could not hear from the "RE2" remake team in a long time. The studio also did not give new updates about the game's development during the "Resident Evil 2" 20th-anniversary last January.
