Ryan Reynolds seems to be doing everything that he can to heighten the excitement for his upcoming "Deadpool" movie. The actor recently joined the photo sharing social networking site Instagram, and his very first post was an ode to the Marvel Comics character that he will portray on the big screen.

Reynolds first portrayed the role of Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool in the 2009-released film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" alongside Hugh Jackman. He gave life to the bizarre and mentally disturbed mercenary who possesses an unusual ability of healing faster than an ordinary human.

Marvel Entertainment and New Line Cinema wanted to make a standalone movie for the character in 2004, but New Line had a change of heart and backed out of the project. It was later picked up by 20th Century Fox, which tapped Tim Miller to direct the movie.

The actor seems to be doing his part well in promoting the movie even if it is still in the early production days. Before joining Instagram, Reynolds made it a habit to entertain his Twitter followers by posting several witty anecdotes and answers to fan questions in the same tone as his Marvel character.

He also posted a funny picture wherein he was sitting on a toilet while wearing the Deadpool mask, as well as a hilarious Mother's Day greeting wherein the anti-hero was seen helping a mother deliver her baby.

The official "Deadpool" synopsis was released by Marvel, and it reads:

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."

"Deadpool" is expected to come out in cinemas on February 12, 2016.
