After the Nexus devices, Motorola is rumored to be next in line to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. And with news that the Android 5.1 Lollipop notes already up at the Motorola website, it seems practically imminent that the Moto X will be getting the updated Android OS soon.

Traditionally, Motorola has become the second (or third) company to get Android updates. At the moment, Motorola is reportedly in the middle of testing the Android 5.1 OS on its Moto X Pure Edition (2014) per Android Central and such was seconded by the fact that the Android notes have already ben bared.

This development should be welcome news to Moto X users, particularly the ones who experienced issues with Android 5.0 and 5.0.3.

Among the things to expect from Android 5.1 Lollipop as far as Moto X users are concerned include cleared and improved for the phone camera, an issue that had beset the Moto X (2nd Gen).

There is also the new Device Protection feature plus a whole lot more which many Moto X users will surely benefit from.

For advanced users who cannot wait, the Android Pit has put up a link to allow you to download the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. However, applying the said OS is left at the discretion and risk of Moto X owners who are eager to upgrade their OS. The steps seem to be simple but tricky so applying such is at "your own risk". You can view the link and instructions here.

With the official Android 5.1 Lollipop update expected to be released any time soon, it would be best to hold on for now and avoid bigger problems should you fail to follow the advanced way of doing it.

With a lot of problems the Android 5.0 brought, the last thing that users would want is a bricked phone.
