LG G4 S release date: Images and specs of new LG handset leaked

South Korean multinational LG Electronics is expected to release the new LG G4 Pro and LG G4 Note smartphones sometime this year. But Russian website hi-tech.mail.ru recently leaked out new images of another new LG mid-range handset that, according to reports, the electronics company is currently developing and aims to release very soon.

Tech Times reports that the design of the new handset, called the LG G4 S, might be identical to the recently released LG G4 smartphone.

Other reports indicate that it will be a smaller and cheaper version of the LG G4. LG recently introduced the G4 Stylus, a bigger version, and G4c, a smaller version, of the original G4.

The G4 S smartphone is expected to sport a 5.2 inch full HD display screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and an 8 mega pixel camera on the back, according to the leaks. The camera is also expected to accompany dual-LED flash and autofocus capabilities.

Under the hood, the new LG G4 S is expected to be powered by a 1.5GHz octa core processor.

The LG G4 was officially introduced last April and was released in the U.S. via wireless carriers just last month.

In comparison with the previous model, the LG G4 sports a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution and a sharp 18 mega pixel rear camera. Internally, the LG G4 packs Qualcomm's MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 along with 3 GB worth of RAM, an expandable 32 GB internal memory storage and a whopping 3000 mAh battery.

Tech Radar reports that the new LG G4 S variant is expected to be launched in the second half of August while other reports say it might arrive in the market as early as this month. It's still unclear at this time when exactly it will be launched and how much it will cost.
