'Deadpool' movie: Colossus will appear only in his metallic form

Deadpool - Colossus 20th Century Fox

"Deadpool" is set to release next month and alongside the titular character Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) will be the two X-Men members Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Colossus (Stefan Kapicic/Greg Lasalle), the latter of whom has been confirmed to appear in his metallic form throughout the entirety of the film.

In a report from Comic Book, which has since been taken down, Colossus's facial actor Greg Lasalle explained how Colossus will appear in the film.

"Well actually, this film he's only in his metal form. I don't know if you knew that. So you won't see a human form of Colossus in 'Deadpool,' only the CG version," he said.

According to a report from Cinema Blend, this may be due to the fact that Colossus will constantly be involved in action sequences or is always on the ready given that he is working side by side with Deadpool, a character known for off-the-wall psychotic actions.

It is speculated that this decision was made in part due to the change of actors portraying the role. By keeping Colossus in his metallic form, the studio may have prevented the issue of re-shooting scenes done with Andre Tricoteux.

Colossus was previously portrayed by Daniel Cudmore in previous "X-Men" films and was recast in "Deadpool," setting Tricoteux to play the role until this was changed at the last minute, with Kapicic stepping in for the motion capture and voice while Lasalle was hired for the facial motions.

With the change in actors, Colossus will now resemble his comic book counterpart more closely. Colossus is now set to stand as tall as the character does in the comics and will have a Russian accent compared to Cudmore's American accent from previous films.

Both Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will be agents sent by the X-Men to assist Deadpool in his fight against Ajax (Ed Skrein) and Angel Dust (Gina Carano).

"Deadpool" opens in theaters this Feb. 12.
