Sprint follows in the footsteps of T-Mobile, which rolled out the same update for the same Samsung Galaxy S6 models about two weeks ago, according to Phone Arena.

Recipients of the new update can now take advantage of the latest features found in the latest update, including RAW photography. The new feature gives smartphone owners the ability to capture raw DNG format photographs with their devices, but they will only able to do so after installing a required third party app.

Users who want to take advantage of the new RAW photography feature can look to install apps such as the Adobe Lightroom and the Camera FV-5 Lite, according to Android Pit.

Aside from RAW photography support, the 5.1.1 Lollipop update from Sprint is also expected to clean out some of the bugs that are specific only to them and the services they provide.

Notably, Sprint's latest update has not specifically addressed the problems concerning RAM management on both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, despite complaints being lodged regarding the issue.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge owners are expected to have at least 50 percent of their battery life available before attempting to install the update.

It is worth noting that T-Mobile has specifically noted a fix for the camera's LED flashlight issue coming to Samsung Galaxy S6 models via the 5.1.1 Lollipop update, and yet Sprint has not included that in their notes.

Verizon, which has also rolled out the latest Android update for Samsung Galaxy S6 models notes that their version includes changes being made to the HD voice calling options as well additional drawing features in the phone's photo editor.

AT&T has yet to release the 5.1.1 update for Samsung Galaxy S6 devices.
