Actor Evan Peters, who starred in all of the previous four seasons of "American Horror Story," returns for the fifth season to play a mysterious character named Mr. March. The actor recently spoke with the Television Academy and revealed in the interview that Mr. March is a "Howard Hughes-type eccentric" kind of character. 

Howard Hughes was one of the self-made wealthiest people in the world during his prime and was known as an enigmatic business tycoon, aviator, and filmmaker. He suffered from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and almost died in several near fatal airplane crashes. 

The mysterious yet powerful man was also the main focus of the Martin Scorsese film "Aviator," which starred Leonardo DiCaprio in the titular role. The film focused primarily on his aviation career and his struggles with his obsessive-compulsive disorder while gleaming over his career in worldwide businesses and politics. 

During the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, Peters revealed that his character was named Mr. March and for the first time in his tenure in the "American Horror Story" series, his character would be a villain. It will be a stark contrast to the characters he has played in the past. 

"I'd like to play darker," the actor explained in the interview with Television Academy.

How he blends the eccentric nature of Howard Hughes and the twisted nature of "American Horror Story" is set to be a fascinating performance. 

Series creator Ryan Murphy also revealed via Twitter that Mr. March will have some connection with "Room 64" although this connection has not yet been revealed. It is speculated by fans that room 64 will be a trophy room, a torture room, or perhaps even a portal to a different dimension within the hotel itself. 

"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres this October and will star series regulars Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, and Kathy Bates while also bringing in newcomers Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, and singer Lady Gaga.
