In the most recent X-Men film, "Days of the Future Past," Marvel fans saw Magneto and Mystique trying to kill each other, but new spoilers suggest that the romance between the two will be highlighted in the next film.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" screenwriter and executive producer Simon Kinberg already revealed that the new film will explore the Mystique-Beast relationship, but Magneto will join the two, forming a love triangle.

An unnamed source told The Hollywood Reporter that Fox and Marvel are taking advantage of the rising popularity of Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender by putting the concocted romance between their characters front and center.

Mystique's character was given emphasis in the last "X-Men" film as she played a critical role in its storyline. Reports stated that the production team utilized Jennifer Lawrence's fame well. In turn, the film was a big hit.

Meanwhile, the latest casting rumors stated that Tom Hardy has been chosen to play the role of the main villain in the new "X-Men" movie as the mutant Apocalypse. Apocalypse is a powerful Egyptian mutant also known as En Sabah Nur or "The First One," as he is the first-ever mutant that walked the Earth.

In the Marvel Universe, his back story traces back to Ancient Egypt where he is tagged as an enemy of Pharaoh Rama-Tut.  He goes on a journey telling people that he is a god and shows off his powers.

Rumors claim that just like in the previous film, present-day mutants will time travel again and will meet Apocalypse cand he will become their enemy, especially of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

"X-Men" fans should also anticipate the appearance of Evan Peters as Quicksilver, who will once again steal a scene in the movie like what he did this year.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit the movie theaters on May 27, 2016.
