WWE rumors: AJ Lee on the way out?

AJ Lee is reportedly out of the WWE (for now) with an injury but if reports are true, there may be more to the truth than what is being said.

Lee is rumored to be under fire for her controversial speech during the WWE Slammy Awards. Apparently her speech did not sit well with the WWE, more so, the other WWE Divas (sans Paige) who were criticized by Lee. Apparently, Lee's speech was not in line with the actual scripted one.

In something that may be related to all that, Lee is said to have had some backstage conflicts in the WWE fold as well. It could not be confirmed if this was tied up with her controversial speech since no names were dropped.

And capping the series of issues being thrown at AJ Lee was her taking time off to be by her husband's side over at Las Vegas. Lee is the wife of former WWE Superstar CM Punk who has officially signed with the UFC.

While her presence beside her husband is to be expected, it seemed that being at UFC 181 all the more upset certain people.

Lee was curiously removed from the WWE Main Event introduction video last month but it is believed that this had nothing to do with her appearance at Punk's UFC signing. However, it is believed that her removal was because of the celebrated backstage incident.

Before taking time out, Lee was reportedly competing despite nursing an injury. She is still in the middle of WWE storyline against the Bella Twins so it is likely that Lee will still be around. Lee is expected to be back by the first quarter of 2015.

However that would all depend in the coming weeks. Lee is seen to be following the footsteps of her husband, that of not caring who she upsets regardless of what she says or does. On how that could affect her future in the WWE remains to be seen.
