'WWE' news: 'Survior Series' rundown

WWE's major pay-per-view event, Survivor Series on Nov. 19 Facebook/WWE

The "World Wrestling Entertainment" (WWE) just had its pay-per-view event for the "Survivor Series," which took place at the Toyota Center, Houston, Texas, with Monday night's "Raw vs. SmackDown" live. The event was reported to be a cornucopia of show-stopping and entertaining matches that was previously unexpected by fans and critics alike. This time, the "Survivor Series" has proven that the "WWE" still has many tricks up its sleeve.

In a report by Mirror, the match between AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar was definitely the most anticipated match of the contest. What made the fight even more special is that most fans, or critics for that matter, never thought that they would get to witness such a bout in the first place. However, the "WWE" made it happen, leaving Lesnar as the winner of the match.

In a report by Forbes, Lesnar may have been the heavily favored wrestler of that match, but perhaps it may not be good for the "WWE" in the long run. For example in 2017, Lesnar has worked his hardest — showing up for 14 matches and that includes his match against Styles, but financially the returns have not been significant for the "WWE." This puts Lesnar's draw factor into question, and maybe it is time for somebody else to take the mantle.

It is important to note that no belts were put on the line during the fight between Lesnar and Styles, which means that no matter which wrestler won, both could have gone home with their heads held high. Another highlight of the evening was the five-versus-five match-up between Team Raw, which consisted of Kurt Angle and Triple H, against Team Smackdown, which had Shane McMahon and John Cena.

According to SB Nation, The Shield and New Day offered fans a proper introduction to kick off the event, and the three-versus-three match did not disappoint. The match ended up with team Raw as the victors.
