'Will & Grace' spoilers: J.Lo to make comeback guest appearance

Jennifer Lopez is returning to "Will & Grace" season 9 in not just one, but two roles.

According to Vanity Fair, the 48-year-old superstar is once again making a guest appearance in the romantic comedy.

Originally, Lopez appeared on the show as herself. This time around, she is reportedly appearing both as a superstar and as Detective Harlee Santos, her character in the NBC crime drama "Shades of Blue."

Fans of the show would remember that Lopez was first seen in "Will & Grace" in two previous episodes -- once for the season 6 finale, and another one for the beginning of the seventh season, both for the wedding of Karen Walker (Megan Mullally) and Lyle Finster (John Cleese).

It was revealed then that the "On the Floor" singer grew up in the Bronx with Karen's now dearly departed maid Rosario (Shelley Morrison). She ended her guest appearances with a huge bang, after she sang "Waiting for Tonight" at Karen and Lyle's wedding. Jack (Sean Hayes) completed her stage by filling in as her backup dancer.

Karen and Lyle's marriage lasted all but 20 minutes, but Lopez was still able to make it memorable with her performance and her smooth ability to poke fun of herself. Remember how she insisted that everyone should wear her new Glow fragrance and her branded jeans?

NBC has yet to reveal how her story will unfold and how her dual character would play out. It is interesting to think though that her Santos character might suddenly start arresting people for not wearing the Glow fragrance Lopez demanded them to wear.

The "If You Had My Love" performer is the latest in the huge names to make a comeback in the hit "Will & Grace" revival. She follows Harry Connick Jr., Minnie Driver, Michael Angarano, and Leslie Jordan. Bobby Cannavale, who won a 2005 Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor for his role as Vince in "Will & Grace" was also earlier announced to return for season 9.

"Will & Grace" airs Thursdays, 9 p.m. EDT, on NBC.
