With the fifth run of "The Walking Dead" winding into a close, fans already look forward to what's in store for the ones who makes it to the finale in one piece. The fate of the remaining characters are still unknown but most likely, fans will not see all of them alive in the upcoming season.

With the idea of another round of zombie killing and sadistic slaughters, the excitement does not only run in every fan's system. Even executive producer Gale Ann Hurd could not hide the thrill when season 6 of "The Walking Dead" becomes the center of the conversation.

"I am so excited," Hurd told Talking Dead. "If people love this season— katie bar the door!"

In a separate interview, this time with Entertainment Weekly, Hurd also detailed as to how far the team is in shaping up the new run.

"As luck would have it, last week Scott Gimple and his fantastic team of writers pitched out eight episodes of Season 6 and let me tell you, it is going to be quite the rollercoaster. It is really exciting and also caused our line producer to start pulling out his hair," she teased.

Meanwhile, Rick Grimes himself sure know what the audience love. In a recent chat with Hollywood Reporter, Andrew Lincoln dished out about the "clash of communities" in the series.

"What struck me, that I've always been excited about, is we're coming into the sixth season of this show and it's the medieval part of The Walking Dead comic, where you realize that there are these isolated communities but don't really know other ones exist. But they're all building and forming themselves with their own image," the actor explained.

"That, to me, is really interesting and when it gets really exciting with all the action. It turns into this insane, near-apocalyptic landscape that we've never seen before. That is almost a reimagining and a restart for society and humanity. And that is such a rich thing to tell."

Season 6 will surely give fans a closer look of the killer group of survivors known as Wolves and another called the Saviors. It is also in the next run of the series where they will meet Paul "Jesus" Monroe thus leading them to Hilltop County. "The Walking Dead" may also reveal the television version of King Ezekiel. Lastly, fans are still waiting for what feels like the imminent coming of Negan.

Filming will likely start in May and will end around November. Fans can also expect to see season 6 of "The Walking Dead" by October.
