'Vikings' season 4, season 5 spoilers: Ivar bloody-faced in new still; another war brewing

The latter half of "Vikings" season 4 is still four months away, but fans can already get a glimpse of the rest of the season and even of season 5.

In counting down the show's return, cast member Alex Hogh Andersen, who plays the role of Ivar the Boneless, shared a photo on Instagram of himself in character — his face full of blood as he sported an expression of grit.

"It's all happy days really... I know the wait is long, but big things are coming up. So stay tuned," the actor captioned the "Vikings" season 4 photo.

The bloodied Ivar is, of course, the result of a war that will take place in the latter half of the current season of "Vikings." A battle is one of the many things he will go through as Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), who returns to Kattegat to check on his sons in episode 11, builds him up as his successor.

Needless to say, Ivar will not be the only one who will shed his blood and spill that of others come "Vikings" season 4. Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will be one to do so, too.

She is out to exact revenge on Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland), who has taken everything from Lagertha except her own life, which Aslaug also tried to take away but failed.

Lagertha will not waste time going after her rival, and instead, she will be launching a power play as early as "Vikings" season 4 episode 11, titled "The Outsiders."

Winnick has also been sharing behind-the-scenes clips during the "Vikings" season 5 production, which revealed that another epic battle will take place next season.

The clips showed two armies charging towards each other with their weapons high and their energy for battle even higher. The videos suggest that there will be more battles to fight beyond "Vikings" season 4.

The first episode of "Vikings" season 4B will air on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. ET on History Channel.
