Last Sunday, "Saturday Night Live" celebrated its 40th anniversary and everyone was hoping that Tracy Morgan would be able to make his comeback then. However, it appears that the comedian is still not ready to do so.

Morgan suffered from broken bones and brain injury due to a vehicular accident. Since then, Morgan hasn't made a public appearance on TV or elsewhere. Nonetheless, earlier this month, US Magazine was able to see Morgan walking with a cane headed to a New York hospital.

While it looks like Morgan is physically recovering from his injuries, being able to walk isn't enough for him to come back to "SNL" wherein he was a regular from 1996 to 2003.

According to a Page Six source, "They really wanted him to be there, but when it came down to it, he just isn't mentally or emotionally ready to appear on TV yet."

Instead, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin paid a tribute to Morgan by showing a classic spiel. But before showing the clip, Fey and Baldwin had a little exchange of words regarding the comedian.

"I wish my friend Tracy Morgan was here tonight, and I know that he was hoping that he would be well enough to be here, too. And if he were here tonight, I'm sure Tracy would like to remind us that more than anything, he would like to get us all pregnant," Fey jokingly said.

Baldwin replied, "See you at the 41st, Tracy. We love you."

The clip was then introduced. It was one of Morgan's most memorable "SNL" characters — Brian Fellow.

Elsewhere, Kevin Roper, the Wal-Mart truck driver that perpetrated the car crash is allegedly begging the federal judge to reconsider delaying the lawsuit against Wal-Mart. He wants to delay it until his criminal case is over because he wants a fair trial. Roper is facing criminal charges due to the death of comedian James McNair, who was also in the vehicle with Morgan.
