'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege' updates: Closed beta details, leaked game footage taken down

Just recently, a footage from the forthcoming tactical shooter "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege," which showed an elaborate hostage rescue mission set in an aircraft, hit the Web. Unfortunately though, it did not take long before it was taken down as it bore copious details about the title that were never meant to get out before it is launched officially.

"We have invited some media and influencers to try the game at our studio," a Ubisoft spokesperson told Eurogamer about the leaked clip from the game. "We are glad to say that they really enjoyed the experience and that soon you will be able to read their impressions. Stay tuned."

In the video, players can shoot through walls, ceilings and floors to locate their enemies. And it looks like players will get cool weapons, too. There is a deployable shield and a sledgehammer that would work best in destroying surfaces. There is also a barbed wire, EMPs and a weapon called Bonfire Launcher.

The footage also showcased a five-versus-five mode wherein players score for kills and assists as well as damage enemies and use obstacles and gadgets.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" is shaping up to be one awesome shooter. In fact, a closed beta for the game is coming later this year and those who pre-order the title will be its participants. Ubisoft promised that the closed beta will follow once the closed alpha for the PC, which Ubisoft said is "right around the corner," is wrapped up.

"The Closed Alpha and the Closed Beta will help us to build a stable experience and to playtest game elements on a very large scale," Ubisoft said in a post on their official blog. "Whether you're testing early on PC during the closed alpha, or helping us validate the experience once we open on all platforms, we're looking forward to interacting with you and working together to make Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege the best it can be at launch."

A release date for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" remains undisclosed.
