Respawn Entertainment has big plans for the "Titanfall" franchise and "Titanfall 2" in particular, so fans can expect that the fun will not end in the base game. In fact, it will only be the beginning.

The studio is making all post-launch downloadable content (DLC) weapons free for everybody, which means that players will be on the same level of playing field.

The decision to do so was mostly because Respawn does not want to use the pay-to-win module in "Titanfall 2" as they did not "believe" in it. This is what the studio's Josh Medina revealed in a Reddit exchange. "We don't want to put anyone behind a paywall it's all about keeping the community together," Medina wrote.

He also teased that Respawn has a lot of exciting content planned for "Titanfall 2" and detailed some of this including the Double Barrel Shotgun.

"This existed early on but it didn't fit in at the time maybe in the future it can come back," Medina teased. He added that "Titanfall 2" will ultimately offer a lot that will keep fans busy.

He also said that there are only a couple of Bounty Hunt Banking locations in one map, quipping that the many of these locations are on the tech test maps.

Meanwhile, "Titanfall 2" is not out yet, but Respawn is already looking forward to the future of the beloved shooter franchise while remaining optimistic about the upcoming iteration.

Respawn CEO Vince Zampella told IGN that "I hope we do more of it. We probably plan to do more—as you know, we have the mobile games as well. I would like to see the universe live on."

"I think it's very expandable. I think there's a lot we can do with it. There's a lot of great ideas floating around here [at Respawn] that I would love to see come to life," he went on to say.

For now, Zampella hopes that "Titanfall 2" will be "embraced" by gamers when it rolls out for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Oct. 28.
