'The Flash' season 1 spoilers: Time travel brings insights on the death of Barry's mother

The idea of time travel always sounds fun, interesting and, of course, complicated. "The Flash" is going to deal with all that in its upcoming episode titled "Fallout." The quest for uncovering the identity of Barry's mother's killer continues and new cringing insights come about in the process.

Dr. Wells a.k.a. Reverse Flash is said to be above suspicion in the murder and it is heavily speculated that Barry is the killer of his own mom. Another conjecture is that Reverse Flash is Barry from the future and if Reverse Flash is indeed the one who took Barry's mother's life, then this makes Barry the killer, too. Lastly, many fans think (or know) that adult Barry was there when his mom was killed a decade ago and Cisco's technology will prove it.

Although time travel is certainly a bit of a mess, the Scarlet Speedster has more problems other than that. Ronnie and Dr. Stein have finally been safely separated after being merged during a nuclear explosion in the previous episodes. The former reunites with his fiancée and the latter with his wife. However, before a celebration could ever transpire, General Eiling comes in and attacks Firestorm. This leads Ronnie and Dr. Stein to consider whether they are safe together or apart. Elsewhere, Mason Bridge informs Iris that there is something going on in the S.T.A.R. Labs that they want to keep under wraps.

Dr. Stein manages to disclose "important information" about time travel to the Flash, which will allow him to dig deeper into the murder of his mother. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TV Line that time travel will happen in episode 15, and episode 14 will build the story arc for it.

"There's an unexpected, accidental time travel coming up and it is played both for hilarity and darkness. It happens in an episode [Episode 15] and we're really excited. It is the first Weather Wizard episode with Liam McIntyre," Kreisberg told the aforementioned site.

Episode 14 of "The Flash" season 1 will be aired on Feb. 17.
