It is already known that Claire Foy cannot play Queen Elizabeth forever in the Netflix series, "The Crown." Fortunately, there is already a confirmed replacement for Foy in the already slated third and fourth season, and that is none other than Olivia Colman. Colman will be playing the older version of Queen Elizabeth as the story progresses.

In a report by Express, the role of the older Queen will be in good hands since Colman has already won a Golden Globe Award for stint in the miniseries, "The Night Manager." This should not come as a surprise since it has been made public that the roles of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth would be replaced.

It is notable that there seems to be an uproar of approval from fans of the series. They welcomed the idea of Colman taking the lead for season 3 and 4. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Chief of Content for Netflix Ted Sarrandos has revealed that the plan for the show is to last until season 6. Given that information, it is highly likely that for season 5 and 6, the roles will be recast once again.

Fans of the acclaimed series will surely miss Foy, especially since she was awarded a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the Queen. Given that, Colman can definitely pick up a few pointers as to how to play the monarch. In a report by Vanity Fair, Foy had already given Colman advice on how to do just that. Foy had reportedly reached out to Colman via phone and told her, "You have to do it!"

This is a good indication of how much Foy respects Colman as an actor, and a very good sign of recasting thus far.

"The Crown" season 2 is scheduled to be released on Dec. 8 on Netflix.
