'The Blacklist' season 4 spoilers: There's more to discover about Red's link to Liz, according to EP

Liz and Red in "The Blacklist" NBC

After denying it every single time Liz (Megan Boone) asked him in the past, Reddington (James Spader) appears to have admitted to Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) in "The Blacklist" season 4 fall finale that he is Liz's father.

However, knowing the kind of man Red is, fans are not sure if he is telling the truth this time. Writer and executive producer Daniel Cerone, however, took to Twitter to assure fans.

Although Red has said before that he is not Liz's father and claimed that he was not lying about that, Cerone claims that Red was indeed "telling the truth" during the fall finale when Kirk tortured him into admitting the secret.

"I know what you're thinking. Red NEVER lies. He said [in the past that] he wasn't her father. But it will all make sense in end," Cerone assured fans.

"For the super fan, this is not a retcon, nor will one be required. You just have to commit to end. We know our destination," he went on to say.

It looks like "The Blacklist" season 4 still has one last surprise when it comes to this storyline, although Cerone seems to imply that what Red said in the fall finale is the truth.

Fans were quickly skeptical about the reveal in the episode especially with the fact that nothing is simple when it comes to Red and his connection to Liz.

For some, it was not a reveal and a shock to them should Red really is telling the truth that Liz is his daughter as they called it from the start. Some speculate that it is nothing but misdirection.

After all, before the premiere of "The Blacklist" season 4, the executive producers said that fans should trust what Kirk is claiming, which is that he is the father of Liz.

It was revealed that Kirk believed this is as a fact from the very beginning, which led to him torturing Red when he realized he is holding on to a lie all along.

What "The Blacklist" season 4 has in store for Red and Liz and what Cerone teases about their endgame should be revealed next year when the show returns on NBC.
