In a recent interview with Zap2it, Megan Boone, who plays Elizabeth Keen in "The Blacklist," teased that season 3 the series will be "very different show" when season 3 kicks in. Although she didn't elaborate on the changes, she put the message across regarding a whole new "The Blacklist" upon its return while holding back to spill some juicy spoilers.

"Season 3 is going to be the same characters but a different show, a very different dynamic. It is going to change." the actress told the aforementioned site. She also dished that the cast and crew are will "sort of break open a lot of the structure of the show."

In "The Blacklist" season 2 finale, Liz has realized that she was the one who shot her father as she was trying to protect her mother from him. Red is distraught knowing that Elizabeth has learned of her horrible past. Add to that her trouble that involves her in the murder of a US senator.

Red and Liz are now on the run, with authorities after them believing the latter killed the politician in question. It remains to be seen how far along in "The Blacklist" season 3 will Liz act as sort of a fugitive in flight from the law but this certainly sees her as a FBI agent.

While this condition isn't favoring a Tom-Liz romance, perhaps this occurrence will give fans a concrete idea of what Red is to Liz and vice versa. In a separate interview with Zap2it, Boone said that "Red loves her, and it is a confusing kind of love" while her character loves Red but not in a romantic way.

Unfortunately, "The Blacklist" won't shed light on the matter in season 3. Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer John Eisendrath said that the season will incline towards fleshing out Ressler, who put Liz in FBI's most wanted list, by "[putting] him in emotionally vulnerable places." Eisendrath says that through this, his connection with Liz can deepen.

"The Blacklist" season 3 begins in fall.
