T-Mobile started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. This is an update that tested the patience of the customers of the carrier, who watched users under the Sprint network get the update for the curvy handset a month ago.

It was also almost a month ago since India gussied up the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. And now, more units of the curved device will get onto the Lollipop ride. The build number of the update is N915TUVU1BOD7, which is dated April 23.

It comes with a hefty size of 1.84 GB so before installing the update, owners need to make sure to clear up some space. Also, the device must be at least 50 percent charged so that the transition will be buttery smooth and problem-free. It is also best to download Lollipop over Wi-Fi.

Since this Android 5.0 Lollipop update is sent over the air, a notification should have popped up on the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge already. But those who have yet to be prompted to download the software can head over to the settings of the handset and manually check for its availability. For those who are having trouble with the over the air update, they can also get Android 5.0 Lollipop via Samsung Kies using a PC or a Mac.

With Android 5.0 Lollipop onboard, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge users will enjoy the new Material Design, which brings vibrant and colorful animation. There are also much-needed bug fixes, an all-new notification and lockscreen designed for convenience. There is also the new Interruptions setting, allowing the user to segregate priority pop-ups and notifications. Then there's the Smart Lock feature, which pairs the handset to a trusted device, promising enhanced security. Lastly, Lollipop should improve the device's overall performance and battery life.
