Melissa Benoist, who is the star of the television show "Supergirl" by The CW network, has finalized her divorce with her now ex-husband, Blake Jenner. It has been a little over a year since Benoist filed for divorce, and it took that long for the matter to finally be settled. Despite the divorce being handled for quite a bit of time, it is notable to mention that both Benoist and Jenner have kept the issue under wraps and away from the public eye.

The news was confirmed by TMZ, wherein they have reported that both Jenner and Benoist have come to an agreement regarding the divorce settlement agreement. The divorce seemed to be nipped in a bud, since the two have come to terms with what they own prior to finalizing the split -- meaning that both parties have made clear distinctions on who gets what once the dust settles. As of now, no hearing has been scheduled by the court.

The 29-year-old Benoist cited her main reason for filing for divorce back in 2016 as "irreconcilable differences," which up to now, has not been further expounded. Benoist and Jenner were married for two years before they decided to end their marriage. As of now, it has been confirmed that Benoist is now legally able to use her maiden name once more, since she is not married to Jenner anymore.

For now, it seems that Benoist is letting her lawyer, Melanie Mandles, handle most of the legal grunt work, as she has posted pictures showing she has recently been on a trip with her mom as they are vacationing in the Colorado National Monument. Benoist and Jenner first met on the set of "Glee," back in 2012, and were engaged in 2013.

It is no secret that Benoist has been dating her co-star from "Supergirl," Chris Wood, who plays Mon-El on the show. The two publicly announced their dating status back in March, earlier this year.
