'Street Fighter 5' release date, gameplay updates: Title to come out in March 2016?

Capcom and Sony PlayStation join hands for "Street Fighter 5" release in 2015. Capcom

The legendary fighting game "Street Fighter" has long been announced to get a refresh. Capcom has "Street Fighter 5" well on the cards and is already on the move to make the game a quelling element for players who have been there long enough to see the bloom of the fighting game section of the gaming kingdom as well as for those who want to get a load of an awesome fighting game experience right from their PS4 and PC.

According to Venture Capital Post, Capcom is well underway in perfecting the graphics of the upcoming installment.

"We've been hard at work on Street Fighter 5 and we promise this game, this product will be the one that brings fighting games into the next era," game producer Yoshinori Ono declared as quoted by Crossmap

In terms of gameplay, "Street Fighter" will introduce two brand new mechanics, the EX meter and the Revenge meter. Found at the bottom of the screen, the former fills up as the fighter gets more damage. But as Crossmap noted, players can also utilize the EX meter to perform a modified power stance. The Revenge meter, which sits at the top, boosts deflected ultra combos.

"We were able, with Street Fighter X Tekken, to develop new netcode that was a generational leap above what we'd done previously but were unable to work that code into Ultra [Street Fighter 4] since the underlying tech is so different. I'd certainly like to continue breaking new ground in this arena," Ono shared as reported by Polygon

For the game to reflect that of what its players want, the game studio is keen on taking into account the suggestions and feedbacks from the "Street Fighter" community. Characters in "Street Fighter V" were also made more unique and the game producer is certain that gamers will be blown away. "Street Fighter V" will allow cross-platform play which the developer says will "unite Street Fighter fans into a centralized player base for the first time ever."

In the game's trailer released last month, Capcom encouraged gamers to "rise up," plucking the heartstrings of the ones who saw the evolution of the game while intriguing the ones who have yet to see the legendary franchise. A gameplay video, on the other hand, showed classic karate warrior Ryu throwing in his famous Hadouken attack to expert martial artist Chun-Li in an action-packed battle. Charlie Nash will also be part of the title. As far as other characters that will join the roster, no details have been uncovered.

"Street Fighter V" will hit shelves on March 31, 2016 as listed by Amazon. The retailing giant ties it up with a $59.99 price tag.
