'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' release date and gameplay footage announcement in April?

Rumor has it that more of "Star Wars: Battlefront" will be seen next month. This is because game studio Electronic Arts is taking the stage at the Star Wars Celebration, which is scheduled from April 16 to 19 in Anaheim, California. Between these days, it is highly likely that gamers who have been awaiting the intergalactic merge of "Star Wars" and epic shooter action will receive news about its launch date as well as see some gameplay footage of the game.

In their upcoming visit to the convention, EA will take along actors Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, and director J.J. Abrams, who all have connections to the legendary franchise. Furthermore, there is reason to think "Star Wars: Battlefront" will put in an appearance in the Anaheim event, with a statement by game design director Niklas Fegraeus that contains a promise.

"We've [DICE] been showing the game to some close partners and one of the things we hear is that it doesn't feel like other shooters and that it's fully born from Star Wars," Fergraeus told IGN earlier this year. "That really strikes a chord with me and the team as that is exactly the emotion and feeling we are going for and we can't wait to show the world more this spring."

"This spring" may just be the vague form of April 16. Besides, there is no more reason to hold it off. EA has been giving select partners a glimpse of the game behind closed doors. In the last one, spectators reportedly gave a standing ovation after viewing the gameplay footage. This only means that the folks responsible for the creation and the beauty of "Star Wars: Battlefront" take enough pride in the game to show it off with confidence.

So if big bombshells are ready to be deployed, the perfect place, time and occasion to do so would be at the Star Wars Celebration. However, until EA and DICE themselves share the same thought as uber-excited gamers, it's safe to assume that "Star Wars: Battlefront" is still far off.
