'Star Wars Battlefront' news: EA reveals Disney's support in making of the game

"Star Wars Battlefront" is poised to be one of the greatest game releases this year. DICE, an EA subsidiary, is still hard at work in making the title look and feel like it really deserves such designation, but the developer knows that it isn't only them that is making this feat possible.

"Disney has been very supportive," EA Studios Vice President Patrick Soderlund told Game Industry Biz. "Everyone said 'big licenses are hard to work with, the licensors.' There's been a lot of guidelines and rules that you need to follow, but they've been very simple, and they've always felt right to follow them. "

He added that there weren't any big issues that sprung from this while in the process of making "Star Wars Battlefront."

He said, "We've never had a big, 'what are you guys thinking, putting Jabba the Hutt here? That makes no sense.'"

The VP added that Disney making sure everything is spick and span when it comes to licensing regulations entailed a lot of work as DICE had to make sure that every element they added in the game was "approved." Despite this, he found it cool that this hasn't been an issue to them or Disney.

"Star Wars Battlefront" will be released on Nov. 17 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Gamers who pre-order the game will enjoy Early Access to the Battle of Jakku with two additional maps set on the new planet.

In addition to this, a two-sided poster will also be for the taking. One side of this poster was already revealed and it features a Stormtrooper in front of his fellows on the planet of Sullust, which DICE designed for the game. As per Gamezone, the planet was only mentioned in the 1983 "Return of the Jedi" film but no one really knows what it looks like.
