Spotify update: Music streaming up and running after downtime last Tuesday

The music streaming service, Spotify, is being used by millions of people who have incorporated the music application in their daily routines. This is why whenever there is an issue that does not allow users to access their music, they get very frustrated. This is exactly what had happened last Tuesday, Nov. 28, wherein users of the service took to social media and complained about it.

In a report by the International Business Times, The servers were temporarily down last Tuesday during the hours of the afternoon. Numerous users encountered a message stating "an error occurred." Normally when issues like these arise, Spotify announces them on their own Twitter page — acting like customer support, and assuring fans that something is being done to resolve the issue.

However, this time around, the people at Spotify did not know what was wrong, and users demanded that the servers be fixed immediately. On Twitter, Spotify stated "Something's not quite right, and we're looking into it. Thanks for your reports!" A message that is this vague is not something that users are used to, since Spotify is naturally quick to spot issues when it comes to their servers.

Recently, the unexpected down times have been occurring all over the U.S., as well as some parts of the U.K. Some users even state which countries and specific areas are experiencing some downtime, which is probably very helpful for the music streaming company. Some proactive users tried clearing some caches and cookies from their phones, or their desktops in order increase their chances at getting their music back — to no avail.

Fortunately, Spotify is once again up and running. The music streaming app reassured their avid users a little before 5 p.m. EST. Users can check the site called Down Detector to check for Spotify's availability all around the world, or even confer with some users in the comment section regarding the status of the servers.
