The gaming realm was informed of the existence of the crossover role-playing video game titled "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" two years ago. Since then, no more news about the game emerged. But despite the lack of information, the title that is currently being worked on by Atlus and Intelligent Systems is still heading in the right direction, contrary to the rumors that it has been cancelled.

According to iDigital Times, "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" is actually making headway and this was reportedly confirmed by a Nintendo producer the media outlet did not name.

The rumors about its cancellation sprouted not only because details about the Wii U-exclusive were hard to pin down but also because Intelligent Systems embarked on another project, which is the turn-based strategy game titled "Codename STEAM." Apparently, the upcoming game's no-show was due to the recent release of "Codename STEAM" and the production of the action role-playing video game "Xenoblade Chronicles X." Nintendo, it seems, is simply waiting for the time "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" would have the spotlight all to itself.

Although gamers will see "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" soon, it is still unknown how soon that will be. There is no word when the game will actually come out and even a 2015 release date is still considered extreme.

The game is the fusion of two series: the Atlus-developed role-playing video game meta-series "Megami Tensei" first released in 1987, and the tactical role-playing video game "Fire Emblem" developed by Intelligent Systems. The latest of the former, which is known for its staple demons and mythology, was seen last year. The latter's debut was back in 1990 when it reintroduced medieval fantasy and inevitable deaths in battle. Its newest iteration came out back in 2012.

"Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" is surely on the horizon but there are no concrete details about it, at least for now.
