Fans think that Irene Adler is not getting the credit she deserves. In fact, some think that returning to "Sherlock" season 4 won't cut it for the nifty cunning woman. In fact, her shrewdness and her skills are said to be enough to land the character her own spinoff.

Irene, played by actress Lara Pulver, appeared on multiple occasions in the BBC series and most of the time, she was there to get the best of Holmes. In one episode, Irene sedated the detective but had him distracted first by showing up naked.

In the same "Sherlock" episode, Irene was able to get away safe from the clutches of the authorities and far away from Holmes too. Although there was one instance where he had to save her from the terrorists in Karachi, Pakistan.

As fans already know, it will take two more years for "Sherlock" season 4 to actually air. With a lot of time in their hands, fans of the hit BBC series hatched an idea by putting Irene Adler in a series of her own that will have fans busy before the new season of "Sherlock" releases.

Of course, there is no concrete information that point to this possibility although iDigital Times broached that the stars' thriving careers make them hard to pin down for the series, let alone a spinoff.

At the moment, showrunner Steven Moffat was only able to insinuate that Holmes might share more screen time with Irene in "Sherlock" season 4. In his chat with Digital Spy, Moffat said that outsmarting each other is "their idea of a night of passion."

In an interview with Radio Times Moffat hinted that "every six months," something as crazy as Irene dressing up as Holmes, the latter coming to the former's defense and all those ironic "I'm not interested in you" implications can happen and that may carry on in "Sherlock" season 4.

The cast and crew will return to the set on spring next year. "Sherlock" season 4 will premiere in 2017 but no specific release date has been set yet.
