Sharp Aquos K flip phone specs and features: Phone unveiled in Japan

As we continue to live in the age where most phones are being molded into tablet-like makes, clamshell phones are certainly still around. Some may have those old flip phones in tow, mostly old models if you think about Samsung and Nokia clamshells. But as far as Sharp is concerned, it seems that they believe that there is still a market for such.

Sharp hasn't really been known to be a major player in the mobile phone niche but there is always a first time for everything. And it looks like they did just that over in Japan when they revealed the Sharp Aquos K SHF-31, a smartphone that runs on Android and offers a decent share of features.

Among the features of the Sharp flip phone include a 3.4-inch TFT screen with 960 x 540 resolution. It runs on a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad processor, comes powered by a 1410 mAh battery and even has a 13MP CMOS sensor rear facing camera.

The clamshell make allows it to be something one can easily carry and hide, a power-packed clamshell phone that technically integrates the looks of yesterday with the more common specs most handsets have to offer to date.

Among the things that this Sharp smartphone has to offer include the ability to take HDR shots, meaning the camera should be something to look forward to. It also has a mobile hotspot which can accommodate up to 10 devices while a microSD card slot is also present to provide more storage options.

Categorized as a mid-ranged phone, there is no official word on how much the Sharp Aquos K SHF-31 would be offered in the market. That and of course the question on whether the device would be made available to consumers outside Japan.
