'Scandal' season 5 spoilers, plot: Fitz, Liv getting happy ending?

A new "Scandal" season 5 promo is dedicated to fans who have been following Fitz and Olivia's romance as it was challenged and and as it blossomed. The video is a mash up of the pair's moments, hinting that there might actually be a chance for them to make things official despite all the threats around them.

Notably, there are no new clips or scenes in the video but it looks like the two will go deeper into their love affair in the new season and get a fairytale ending. This is despite the reinstated president still technically married to Mellie, who can ruin the whole thing in just a snap.

Carter Matt reports that with the public knowing about Mellie being together with Fitz, it remains to be seen how the idea championed in this new teaser will actually work. That Mellie is still here with newfound political endeavors makes it very worrying.

Without Mellie in the White House, there's reason to think that the couple may finally get their chance at love. Unfortunately, fans who have been expecting that to happen just about every season know better than to believe that this could actually come about. There are other hostile forces that are encumbering the couple's well-deserved happy ending. And if it does happen eventually, it would certainly be full of drama and big challenges as such a big feat is never easy to attain.

According to Urban Daily, with Cyrus still alive despite being replaced by Elizabeth North, and with Rowan Pope possibly plotting revenge and getting ready to get out of that prison, Fitz and Liv living in love and peace remains something that's very evasive.

Liv and Fitz fought long and hard for this battle. If the promo is anything to go by, "Scandal" season 5 may finally be the time the lovebirds will actually get together. It could also be that the video may just be something the show wants fans to savor or believe because big trials are coming.
