San Antonio Spurs 2015 rumors: Kawhi Leonard most likely secured

Kawhi Leonard is a priceless piece for San Antonio hence it is not surprising to hear that the Spurs are planning to offer him the max contract once he becomes a restricted free agent this July.

Though Leonard has been quiet thus far, the most likely scenario is that he would be staying on with the Spurs. And the only thing needed to make that happen is his commitment and signing on the dotted line.

Leonard was virtually an unknown before though all that changed with his role particularly in last year's NBA finals where he was adjudged the NBA Finals MVP.

And while Leonard did have his share of health issues (right eye infection caused by conjunctivitis), the setback would not hold back Leonard from gaining the nod of being named this year's NBA Defensive Player of the Year. The recognition was another feather to Leonard's cap and it seems the 25-year old small forward is not planning to slow down.

With Leonard practically sure to stay with the Spurs, finding players to compliment the 6-foot-7 cager from San Diego State University is the next order of business for the Spurs. And that player could be LaMarcus Aldridge if the team succeeds in convincing the current Portland Trailblazer to their fold.

Aldridge has been the talk of the town these days and many speculate the he could likely test the free agent market. Aldridge could be a fine compliment to Leonard. He plays the power forward and center position.

The 6-foot-11 player who played college ball for the University of Texas, is a prime target after the season. Among the teams expected to make a run for Aldridge include the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers.

However and as said in a previous article, Aldridge's choice will depend on what he is looking for – Fame or an NBA title.
