After making an Iron Man version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and possibly thinking of developing a mini version, too, Samsung is rumored to release a bigger version of the S6 Edge flagship, which is dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus. It is said that Project Zero 2 is all about this forthcoming handset.
Rumor has it that the South Korea-based tech firm will unveil its latest Galaxy offering in the weeks to come. Interestingly, there was also buzz about the very same device, which was then named Grand instead of Plus, making an appearance at the IFA in Berlin scheduled in September.
Samsung has yet to make the Galaxy S6 Plus official but Italian website HD Blog's "reliable sources" tell them that the new flavor of the flagship won't make the tech world wait long. "In the coming weeks," as the site clarifies, pertains to around September. This plays nicely with the company's release patterns.
Back in April 2014, the Samsung Galaxy S5 hit the shelves. It wasn't until October that year that the handset got its bigger brother called the Galaxy S5 Plus. If Samsung will adopt the same strategy, then the Galaxy S6 Plus is in the offing, presumably at the IFA where the Galaxy Note 5 is also expected to show up.
According to reports, the larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge will come with a 5.4-inch or a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display. It will be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and will offer up to 32 GB of internal storage. The device is also said to feature a 16-megapixel shooter on the back and a 5-megapixel snapper at the front. No word on the pricing yet but should Samsung launch the device in the coming weeks as the rumors suggest, that aspect will be taken care of.
