Samsung was commended for its superior Note flagship, the Galaxy Note 4. And it looks like another massive success is already being set in stone with the Samsung Galaxy S6, which rumor mills describe to be more than just a Galaxy S5 upgrade. Reports have been suggesting that the South Korea-based company is building the Galaxy S6 from scratch and this allowed them to innovate the device further. But which flagship is worth the money? Is Galaxy Note 4 enough for faithfuls not to wait for the Galaxy S6?
If the rumors are accurate, then the Galaxy S6 will look ravishing with its alleged glass back panel and metal chassis. The Note 4's metal casing, however, is already considered a jump for the tech firm that always opted for plastic. From what rumor mills have chomped, the Samsung Galaxy S6 looks to be the thinner of the pair. Note 4 will come out hulking with its 8.5 mm-thin body if their maker builds the S6 with a 7.2 mm-thin body, as what recent schematics leaks reveal. The Note 4 is expected to be larger than the Galaxy S6, which is rumored to get a 5.1- or 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display. The Note flagship is at 5.7 inches. This also makes the graphics of the S6 look sharper and crisper. While both produce the same 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, the upcoming phone is set to render 554 or 577 ppi pixel density, much better than Note 4's 515. Also, the Galaxy S6 is said to come with a dual-edged variant, which, in itself, may already be a deciding factor for buyers.
The Note 4 is powered up by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, with multiple cores clocked at 2.7 GHz, 1.3 GHz and 1.9 GHz. The Galaxy S6, on the other hand, is said to mark Samsung's first attempt to manufacture its own chips. According to reports, the tech firm is ditching Qualcomm for its homegrown Exynos processor to stay away from alleged overheating issues of the Snapdragon 810 and to establish itself a self-reliant manufacturer. ROM-wise, the Galaxy S6 will step up by packing 4 GB internal memory. Others report that the device will only get 3 GB. If this transpires, the Note 4 will be on par with the device on this department. However, the Note 4 needs an SD card to reach 128 GB from its 32 GB storage capacity while Galaxy S6 is rumored to support up to 128 GB.
Samsung is speculated to slot in a 20-megapixel camera in the Galaxy S6. This will easily defeat the Note 4's 16-megapixel shooter, although the quality of a camera cannot be determined by megapixels alone. The latter is likely to get a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter while the Note 4 takes care of selfies with its 3.7-megapixel snapper. Lastly, the Note 4 is pitted to last for 20 hours with its 3220 mAh battery. The Galaxy S6 is said to get a 2550 mAh unit but its battery life is still undetermined.
The Note 4 was released in October 2014 with a 750 euro price tag. The Galaxy S6 is rumored to be released in March but pricing for the handset is still unknown.
