Samsung Galaxy Note 6 rumors: Two versions being tested -- curved and flat screen

It is highly speculated in smartphone community that Samsung is testing two models for its upcoming Galaxy Note 6. It is said that a curved screen variant, like the S7 edge, and a flat-screened one is being tested now.

According to a Dutch website, GSM Helpdesk, one of the rumors going around the Internet is that the Galaxy Note 6 will be the successor for two previous models, the Galaxy Note 5 as well as the S6 edge +. Thus, the South Korean tech giant has not decided yet if they will use an edge screen design or just the flat one. There is no difference when it comes to its internal parts and it is just the screen designs that are different. However, only one prototype will make it to the production line, GSM Arena reported.

Forbes added that there is a strong possibility that Samsung will push through with the edge design. Since this is a flagship phone, extra functionality is a must-have.

The report also added since its predecessor, the Note 5, did not get much attention because of some flaws in the design, the company will try to rectify the previous issues with its rumored successor. This includes the battery, where it is rumored to jump from 3,000 mAh to 4,000 mAh capacity.

A previous rumor surrounding the next Samsung phablet is a 6 GB RAM. The Note 5 included a 4 GB RAM, a first during its time, but its seems that it wasn't enough for its operating system, thus the company is said to be adding more.

The Dutch website also mentioned that there will be two chipsets for the rumored phablet. The European market will have Samsung's own Exynos 8-series octa-processor, said to be slightly faster than the one on the S7 and S7 edge. Other regions, meanwhile, will receive a  chipset-equipped version.

Other rumors include an internal storage at 32 GB and expandable via a microSD card, a 12 MP dual-camera system, a finger print sensor and the latest Android N operating system.

Samsung has no comment on these rumors.
