Sacramento Kings NBA 2015 news: Darkhorse for services of Rajon Rondo

The focus in the upcoming NBA Free Agency this July is obviously among the big guys like Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan but there are also the small guys who are bound to gain some interest as well.

Leading the pack is no other than Rajon Rondo, the disgruntled guard who last played with the Dallas Mavericks but is expected to jump ship and test free agency two months from now.

Of course, the team that is said to be on Rondo's track are the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant already had preliminary talks with Rondo last December and the initial belief was that the Lakers have a lock on Rondo's services but that was before the Lakers added that it will all still depend on his asking price and salary.

Aside from the Lakers, the Houston Rockets and the Miami Heat are also considering Rondo. And as momentum builds heading into NBA Free agency, it may not be surprising if the deals come flying Rondo's way.

The Kings?

Well being branded a darkhorse is only expected considering the other teams that are in play. The Lakers, Heat and Rockets have NBA titles to brag about and the Kings have yet to establish themselves as a power to reckon with.

But all that would depend on Rondo. The immediate notion is that Rondo would want another crack at the NBA title though of the teams in play, it will most likely only be Houston and Miami which have a chance at that.

The Lakers are still in shambles and success would depend on who the Lakers' crew will be next season.

The Kings on the other hand are not far off from the Lakers. They could lose DeMarcus Cousins if the Celtics succeed in luring him out though George Karl has been known to be a master tactician.

With the Kings in play, Rondo has a lot of options. Now which team will possibly win out?
