Microsoft has detailed the DLC and card packs to be released for the Crystal Dynamics-developed action-adventure video game "Rise of the Tomb Raider." These add-ons are expected to keep the next year eventful for players.
The first expansion pack gamers can look forward to seeing is the Endurance Mode. As suggested in the name, it is basically a woman-versus-wild test where "you start with nothing and must find everything."
Players will have to do what it takes to help protagonist Lara Croft survive the extreme conditions and the threats from both man and wild. This "Rise of the Tomb Raider" DLC will test the staying power of gamers starting Dec. 29.
The next DLC is called "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" and it was recently previewed in the Game Awards 2015. Here, Lara will have to tread the nightmarish, danger-ridden forbidden forest to find a missing man.
Baba Yaga haunts the perilous woods although but Lara is about to find out if this is the truth. Microsoft teases that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" gamers will get their hands on this mystical new mission by early 2016. No specific date was mentioned.
"Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" will be followed by "Cold Darkness Awakened," a kill or be killed survival-combat that pits Lara against beasts and men turned "bloodthirsty, mindless killers." In addition to avoiding death in the hands of these monsters, Lara must b e able to take their equipment.
"Rise of the Tomb Raider" players can also avail of the expedition card packs, which endow them five expedition cards and more. The Silver and Gold version will score players an extra Uncommon and Rare card respectively.
The Advantage Expedition Card Pack helps Lara gain an upper hand during the play while the Challenge version of the card makes the situation more difficult for players by either limiting Lara or throwing in new elements.
The Wild edition offers "a highly unique impact on gameplay" and may possibly bring in some creative, crazy, or even Rare Cards.
There will also be new weapons and skins for "Rise of the Tomb Raider" players to check out. The only one available right now is the Siberian Ranger, which would allow Lara to carry more ammunition. The rest of the packs namely Prophet's Legacy, Ancient Vanguard and Wilderness Survivor will be released next year. Check the complete info here.
