'Red Dead Redemption 2' sequel news: Game might be called 'The Legends of the West'

Red Dead Redemption Rockstar

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is one sequel many gamers want to get their hands on. Even though game developer Rockstar has not formalized the game just yet, plenty of information about the sought-after follow-up to John Marston's enthralling story are already close at hand.

According to Latinos Post, a former Rockstar staffer decided to let the cat out of the bag simply to show how irked he was with his bosses. He reportedly revealed through Reddit what the game studio has been working on with regard to the rumored sequel.

The revenge-bent employee spilled everything starting from the title. According to the mystery insider, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will officially get the subtitle "The Legends of the West" and it will only be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. No gun-toting in the Wild West for last-gen console owners.

If the claims hold some truth in them, the game may even make it to the PC, which is both a shock and a delight since Rockstar chose to forgo a PC release for "Red Dead Redemption." Of course, until the developer makes it official, this remains only as a speculation.

As per Vine Report, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have three characters in the vanguard. The first one is a fully customizable character but wasn't named. It seems that this character will get an identity as fashioned by the gamers.

The second one is named Seth, a former bank teller who decides to go after a treasure. The last one is an Irish-born swashbuckler who is granted an adventure of a lifetime when he decides to visit America on his 21st birthday.

The ex-Rockstar employee also said that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will allow gamers to choose the breed of their horse as well as their color, boots, saddle and even stats. Customization also applies to a safe house, which can be purchased in-game. Gamers can even join a gang.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to hit the shelves early next year.
