The developers of "Rainbow Six Siege" have changed their minds, as the planned price increase for the multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) has been cancelled.

Ubisoft, the developer and publisher of the FPS, has announced that they have seen the concerns of players for the game and have decided to keep the price of the Standard Edition of "Rainbow Six Siege" to $40 instead of raising it to the planned $60. This is because a lot of players were worried about introducing their friends to the game since the price might prove to be a deal breaker for a primarily multiplayer-focused game.

This means that there might also be no price hikes to the more expensive versions of the game since the Advanced Edition of "Rainbow Six Siege" actually costs $60. Players have been thankful for the change of mind from the developers and even praised them for listening to the community.

Apart from the cancelled price increase, the developers also addressed a concern among Veteran players of the game. Since the game is now making all players who have played the game before March 6 into Veterans, those who have been dedicated to the FPS for a longer time may have felt left out. As such, Ubisoft will then be giving a free Ash Sidewinder Elite skin to those who played before March 6.

Earlier in the week, it can be recalled that Ubisoft announced a $20 price hike for the Standard version of the game. This makes it so regular players only have two choices if they do not want to spend too much for the game. These are the $15 Starter Edition, which only unlocks a meager amount of content, and a $60 Standard Edition. This was quite a big leap and is even an unwelcome change especially since "Rainbow Six Siege" is nearly a three-year-old game now.

This caused quite an outrage in the game's subreddit forums, but thankfully, the developers have opted to listen to the player base.
