'Pokemon GO' Halloween news: Third generation Pokemon to arrive for special event

It seems that developers over at Niantic are looking to further expand the roster of Pokemon in the mobile video game "Pokemon GO." An update has arrived for the game, which allows players to catch third generation Pokemon just in time to celebrate the spirit of Halloween.

In a report by IGN, the Reddit fan community who call themselves The Sliph Road have posted an update on their website. The post claimed that the 0.79.2 update of "Pokemon GO" will include the Pokemon Shuppet, Banette, Sableye, Dusclops, and Duskoll. This gives more reasons for players of the game to go out into the world in search of these Pokemon. However, these are still rumors.

Despite being mere speculations, the likelihood of the third generation of Pokemon being released on Halloween is very likely.

According to Forbes, the 0.79.2 update of "Pokemon GO" has a wallpaper that further propels the rumors to be true. The loading screen shows Gengar, a ghost type Pokemon, and other Pokemon from the third generation in a spooky themed atmosphere under a moonlight. The setting appears to be a graveyard.

Though the most exciting speculation of the update is the supposed Pokemon that will be made available to players, there are other offerings that are expected to arrive for the Halloween event as well. According to Dotesports, the game's Pokedex will also be updated to #386. In the Pokemon universe, the number is assigned to the Pokemon Deoxys, which provides some insight as to which Pokemon could likely arrive once Niantic green lights the update.

Since the arrival of these Pokemon seem to be imminent, the next big question is whether these Pokemon will be here to stay once they have been released for the Halloween special. Additionally, it also sparks the question as to when the rest of the third generation Pokemon will be released for players.
