Pink set to sing 'Star-Spangled Banner' at Superbowl LII

American singer and performer Pink has been confirmed to sing the United States national anthem during this year's highly anticipated National Football League Superbowl. Pink's performance will set the tone for the entire spectacle that is Superbowl LII, and will take place at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, next month.

Just like before, the "Star-Spangled Banner" will be sung by Pink before the football game begins. Given Pink's powerful voice, and natural flare for performing, it can be expected that the popular singer will be coming out to fill the stadium with her voice while delivering a very emotional and heartfelt performance. On top of that, it is known that Pink is inclined to set herself apart from most performers -- which means that fans should expect the unexpected.

It is considered to be one of the highest honors for any singer to be given the opportunity to sing the country's national anthem, on such a publicized event. Pink will join the ranks of Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, and Idina Menzel -- all of whom are known for their vocal prowess, and were successful in giving very memorable performances during the past Superbowl events.

Joining Pink in her performance is a representative of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), director and actor, Alexandria Wailes, who will be performing through sign language for both the "Star-Spangled Banner," and "America the Beautiful." The pre-game festivities will be aired on the NBC network just before kick-off.

On October of last year, the "Just Like Fire" singer released her latest album, which is now her seventh, and has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake is scheduled to perform during the halftime show of the event. The Superbowl LII will take place on Feb. 4.
