'Persona 5' DLC news: Players will be able to dress up as 'Catherine' characters

Atlus is releasing free downloadable content (DLC) for "Persona 5" this week to celebrate its success in the studio's home fort, Japan, where 550,000 copies of the game were sold.

The developer will release an expansion pack that will allow players channel the looks of Atlus' puzzle platformer adventure video game, "Catherine," as well as an additional swimsuit DLC.

The former will allow the "Persona 5" characters to dress up as the characters from "Catherine." A promotional image shows Anne donning the iconic look of the titular character.

The protagonist is suited up as Vincent, the main character in the 2011 game, "Catherine," and the man seduced by the said game's titular character. Makoto is dressed as Katherine, Vincent's classmate turned girlfriend whom he cheated on with Catherine.

Futaba will don the costume of Tobias, Haru will be dressed as Erica, Yusuke will be Jonathan, Ryuji will be Orlando, and Morgana has a sheep costume going on.

In addition to new outfits that serve as a small crossover between the two worlds, the "Persona 5" DLCs will also include background music and several accessories.

Fans would want to be quick in picking up the offerings especially for the "Catherine" DLC since it will only be available for free from Oct. 5 to Oct. 10.

After that, players will have to shell out 800 yen or around $8 to purchase the "Persona 5" pack. It is unknown if this is the case with the bikini set as well, but fans can get a look at the garb from this DLC below.

Although "Persona 5" has already enjoyed sweeping success in Japan, the role-playing video game is yet to be released in the West.

The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4-exclusive video game won't be available outside Japan until Feb. 14. It remains to be seen if it will be released with all the DLCs by that time.
