Pacquiao vs Mayweather 2 rematch latest news: Is second fight a possibility?

Prior to the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, it was stipulated that there would be no rematch. It was part of what the Mayweather camp had reportedly stressed before agreeing to get it on last May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Everyone of course knows that Floyd Mayweather Jr. won that fight via unanimous decision.

Controversy around the fight has been sparked after it emerged that Pacquiao was fighting with an injured right shoulder.

Pacquiao is now in the limelight and could be fined and suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission for failing to divulge that he had the shoulder injury. A day before the fight, the Pacquiao camp checked "no" on the commission questionnaire which asked if he had any injuries.

Pacquiao's injury reportedly occurred during one of his training sessions a month before the fight. As a result of the celebrated hold out, Pacquiao is facing a lawsuit.

For his part, Mayweather had initially announced that he would be willing to face Pacquiao for a rematch after he make a full recovery. But two days later, he took back his announcement, calling Pacquiao a sore loser and hence will not wait for the Filipino boxer to get back into the ring.

19 years in the fight game and I've had one excuse: "Don't have an excuse". Winners win and losers have excuses.

Mayweather is set to fight again this September and stressed that it could be his last fight before retiring. A win would allow him to duplicate the 49-0 feat of Rocky Marciano.

He could go and break it with one more fight, supposedly one more with Pacquiao. But to date, Mayweather says the rematch is off.

The fans are divided as well if a Mayweather-Pacquiao II would be worth holding. The MGM Grand is having second thoughts of holding it, apparently due to the negativity the May 2 bout had produced.

Lastly, fans are crying foul over the results of the match. Some fans believe that Pacquiao deserved a second chance. Mayweather was hit for constantly running throughout the match, something that was already to be expected. So if there would be a sequel, chances are it would be the same scenario.

So what do you think? Does a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao II makes sense? Feedback will be pretty much appreciated.
