Claire and Jamie will journey to France in "Outlander" season 2, and fans will instantly be taken to the "brighter" urban setting of the show. Entertainment Weekly recently released new stills that give a glimpse of the new location.

"The story of Jamie and Claire in the 18th century pretty much starts with their arrival in France," executive producer Ronald Moore told the aforementioned site. "The big story point picks up from where we left season 1."

The last time fans saw Claire and Jamie, the two were off to rewrite history by stopping and rendering the Jacobite rebellion nonexistent, thus preventing Culloden Moor's death and the Highland culture's complete ruin. In the photos, fans get the first look of the duo following through the mission.

Moore also talked about the leads' major change in fashion. Calling Paris a "completely different world," the EP said it took a great deal of effort to have Jamie and Claire fit in the "aristocratic world" of the city, which at that time, Moore said, "is the most stylish city in the world."

"Outlander" season 2 is based on Diana Gabaldon's novel "Dragonfly in Amber." Moore admitted that the novel is "more complex" to reimagine for TV more than the first book. This is why adjustments were made, which were approved by the author. The structure, however, remains unchanged.

Moore said that Gabaldon "really liked" how the essence of the book was laid out in the season. The novelist said Moore hit the mark on simplifying it for TV consumption. This makes the showrunner "feel good" about what they will be giving to fans in the upcoming season. He expects that viewers will get excited about being hurled into a new world with refreshing sights to see.

Unfortunately, there isn't a premiere date set yet but "Outlander" season 2 is expected to debut next year.
