Nintendo NX release date: Nintedo won't talk about new console until 2016

Nintendo was serious when it said that no information about the NX will be announced until next year. Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Amie reiterated this in yesterday's Digital Event.

The Nintendo NX, the company's upcoming dedicated gaming platform in development, was introduced back in March in an event where the company talked about shaping up its future to one filled with smartphone games. Although the event was all about mobile-related plans, Nintendo hasn't forgotten dedicated game systems, hence the NX was revealed.

Along with this new game system, Nintendo has also partnered with Japanese mobile gaming company DeNA for a new membership service, "which encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the new hardware system with a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs."

This membership will be the substitute to Club Nintendo, which the company hopes to close down this year. Media outlets are one in saying that 2015 is staging a bigger and better Nintendo, which will come out in full swing in 2016.

The Nintendo NX may not be the centerpiece in its conference but the firm's slew of games to be released this year hints that more massive titles are being prepared for the coming of the NX. This year was mostly about making 3DS owners happy.

As what Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto underscored during the Electronic Entertainment Expo conference, the focus is on what the company has to offer now — there's "The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes," "Star Fox Zero" and a new "Fire Emblem," to name a few.

The coming of "The Legend of Zelda" to the Wii U, Miyamoto said, isn't something to be worried about. This is in response to the growing speculations that the highly-anticipated title may not come to the console with the rise of the Nintendo NX and the firm's gradually shifting focus.
