Gamers who fell short of getting one of the limited edition Majora's Mask Edition of the Nintendo 3DS XL, here is your chance. The Nintendo World Store and GameStop have announced that the previously out of stock handheld has been restocked but will only be good while supplies last.
The Majora Mask Edition took the gaming world by storm back in January. Unfortunately due to some issues on distribution and proper channeling, not all interested consumers were able to get one. Well now is their chance.
But as far as GameStop is concerned, availability seems to be really limited. According to the memo which was leaked via NeoGAF, each branch will only be given four systems each. So while the restocking thing seems to be good news for people looking to get hold of these limited edition handhelds, it may eventually end up on who gets their first. GameStop will be implementing a 1:1 rule for customers so if there are only indeed 4 units, the first four per branch would be the lucky ones to get hold of the limited edition handheld device.
As far as the Nintendo World Store located at Rockefeller Plaza is concerned, there is no official word on how limited their stocks are. Nevertheless and if you are inclined to get one, just head on over there (if you are near the area) and get one fast.
It was back in January when the 3DS Majora's Mask Edition got sold out in just 15 minutes, according to a report by Forbes. The apparent demand for the limited edition piece became overwhelming which even saw retailers like Best Buy cancelling pre-orders due to lack of stocks.
With the current restocking, gamers and collectors are expected to troop down to GameStop or the Nintendo World Store to get one. For folks who fail to get one, you can always check out auction sites for one. But be ready to shell out crazy amounts, prices which can soar as high as $500 a pop.
A Majora's Mask New 3DS XL bundle costs around $329.95. The bundle includes The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Code Name S.T.E.A.M, and the Majora's Mask 3D Collector's Edition Guide.
